Danube Park with children: how to take a pleasant break in the centre

GuideCity and sights

Danube Park is a practical stop when you are exploring central Novi Sad with children. After the pedestrian streets and shop windows, a change of scene can matter more than another sight. Allow time for a rest and plan the remainder of the day around how much the little ones want to walk.

The park is a protected natural area, so treat it as a place to be looked after. As you walk, take in the trees and paths, with consideration for other visitors. A family plan doesn’t need a long visit: a short break between the centre and your next activity can be quite enough.

After the park, decide whether you want lunch or just a sweet break. At Lazin Salaš you can look at the menu and see which dish suits your family. If you have a particular request for a child, ask the staff about ingredients and ordering options before you choose.

For a longer route, use our Novi Sad in one day guide, but you don’t have to cover every suggested stop. If you are visiting during children’s events, read our guide to festival culture too. A plan that leaves room for breaks often makes for a more enjoyable day than trying to see the whole city at once.
