At Lazin Salaš, “lenja pita, al domaća” (“lazy pie, but homemade”) is listed with a filling of sour cherries or apples, as you prefer. Before ordering, check which fillings are available that day. Apples and sour cherries leave a different impression, so it helps to choose by the fruit you like rather than expecting every cake with the same name to be exactly alike.
You can save lenja pita for the end of lunch or make it a separate sweet break during a walk around Novi Sad. If you are coming with someone who likes quite different desserts, take a look at šne nokle as well. That way, at the same table, you can try both a baked fruit cake and a dessert of dumplings and milk custard.
The current selection is on the Lazin Salaš menu. For the dessert of the day, ask the staff what sweet things there are. A dessert break doesn’t have to be a spur-of-the-moment decision: you can plan it in advance as a pleasant end to your tour of the centre, with time to sit down and rest your feet.
