A first course that needs no rush
Homemade noodle soup is a natural start for guests who like a lunch of several courses. At Lazin Salaš the soup is made with chicken and beef, with vegetables and homemade noodles. If you would rather have a čorba (stew soup), look at the current selection and pick the flavour you like. Not everyone needs to order the same starter for the meal to have a shared rhythm.
A main course to match your appetite
Gravy lovers can choose Vojvodina goulash or veal shank. If you like vegetables with your meat, bećarac with turkey and mashed potatoes is a different combination. Batak i grašak, k’o kod bake (“drumstick and peas, like grandma’s”) brings together a chicken drumstick, thick pea stew and mashed potatoes. Those who enjoy breaded dishes can look at Karađorđe’s schnitzel, while the grill offers a whole different direction.
Don’t forget guests who choose meat-free dishes
The menu also has prebranac, đuveč na tenane (slow-cooked đuveč), grilled vegetables and other options to consider when someone wants a meal without meat. Explain any special dietary requirements to the staff before ordering, so that the choice is based on what is actually in the dish. A family lunch is easier to organise when these needs are thought about in advance.
Dessert as part of the plan
One person will choose šne nokle, another strudel, and someone else lenja pita with a fruit filling. When you order your main course, think about whether you will want something sweet afterwards. If you have guests from another town, this part of the meal can be a chance to introduce them to a dessert they wouldn’t usually order. For the sweet surprise of the day, ask the staff what is on offer.
How to organise a group visit
Look at the Lazin Salaš menu before lunch and reserve a table for the agreed number of guests. If the number changes, let us know in good time. For a small group it is enough to have a rough idea of what everyone wants, while for a larger gathering it helps to agree in advance how you will order and when you will arrive.
Before or after the meal you can stroll through the centre and keep Sunday free of too many commitments. For guests who want a wider choice of food, recommend our guide to ten homemade dishes. Your next lunch can then start with a different choice, and the same shared table can find something new to talk about.
